Photograph of the 26th Pennsylvania Emergency Regiment Monument located in Gettysburg. Statue is standing, clutching a gun. Photograph is taken in the sculptor's studio. On the back of the gray mount is "1" and "26th Pennsylvania Emergency Regiment Monument." Also written on the back by Samuel W. Pennypacker is "While this statue at Gettysburg is in no sense a portrait, the artist endeavored to represent his idea of what was my own personal appearance when about nineteen years of age. Saml. W. Pennypacker". Stamped on the back in purple is "W.B. Van Amringe No. 3 Bromfield Street, Boston, Mass". |
